Gathering around the fire at Quartsite
Who is planning to gather around the fire this year at Quartsite? We are planning to be there and then continue on to see some other sites in Arizona.
Here is the information about the RV Show there. http://www.quartzsitervshow.com/

Oh Doug, you had to bring that up. We can't be there this year and now you are making me feel bad. I really had a good time last year with all of you. But if the weather doesn't warm up in the east soon, we may change plans,
Helen

We (along with the Howards) plan to be there at some point. Are you thinking of camping in the same location as last year?

Big Red will be there to act as a landmark for the poor lost and the picture guy. We're not going to be the last ones to leave, though. Last year it got awfully hot and windy, and plenty lonely, by the time we rolled onto the highway home.

Doug, I'll be just up Plomosa road a mile or so, with the Escapees SOLOS. Let me know if the group is going to have pizza again (or some other gathering), and I'll come join you if possible. In any case, I'll stop by to say Hi.

Dennis, we have not set the exact date yet but will probably be there the 20th or 21st, I will post the dates as soon as we firm them up. Golf sounds good, I believe Gofnuts will be there also and they love golfing. We will let you set up the golfing, last year we could not get on a course as we needed to make reservations 2 weeks in advance.
Gypsy, good to hear that you will be in the area. PLEASE be careful unhooking . I am sure with as many MOC'ers that will be there we will have some sort of gathering. We will post the forum when we know what the plan is.

LOL, Doug. You just *had* to remind me, didn't you! What are friends for?
Helen, I think you should consider changing your plans. You'll miss a really fun time, otherwise!
Glad to see so many responding this year!

We too will do the Q'zite thing this year, although will be with some unlucky non-Montana rv'ers somewhere out in BLM land. Hope to meet up with the group at some point during the "gathering" so we can put faces & real people with the names.

Mike & Ronni, It is good to hear that you will be at the Q, if you want you and your friends can join the round up. We will be off Palomosa Rd. We will post more information when it gets closer to the time we will be there. We will also mark the area with MOC signs.

Getting one of those cards the free ones or the fee ones is a bummer, We would have to travel many, many Miles to get one as they have to be issued in person.. And I note that most, if not all of them do not cover overnight camping..

Rich, if Don is talking about the Golden Age Pass, they are available at any COE campground and easily obtained. Or are you talking about something else? They are available for $10.00 if you're over 62. It saves you half off the usual camping fees. You must be talking about something else.

Rich, you can pick them up at any National Park on your way out. Or, at any U.S. Forest Service or B.L.M. office after you get out here.
