Spring Great Lakes Regional Rally
Well, we just got back from another wonderful MOC rally in Goshen. We were talking about a spring Great Lakes rally. Terrie and I have offered to host around Memorial Day (U.S.) in Illinois for 2007. More details to follow. Just reply here if you would be interested. I need to let the campground know how many sites we would need. It would be at Holiday Campground in Galesburg, Illinois.

Ron, We stayed at that campground on Tuesday. I have NEVER met a more unfriendly person at the desk in any campground we have stayed at. We didn't get so much as a hello. I felt like she was doing us a great favor to let us stay there. Sorry to sound so negative but we have never encountered this before.

Bill and Helen -
Sorry to hear that Judy was out of sorts when you went through. Stan and Judy are the owners and they seasonal in Texas. We have Seasonaled there the last two years. Usually they are very good to work with at the campground. I'm not going to try to apologize for them. I only want you to know that usually they are pretty nice people. It sounds as if you are hustling back toward Minnesota. Have a great trip and hope that we can entice you to the regional rally next spring.

Dorothy and I will try to be there. We are volunteering at the corp of engineers Melvern Lake April, May, and June. How many days will the rally last? We could probly get away for about 5 days. That would give us two days travel and three days there.

Well, shortly after the National Rally - where we offered to host a spring regional - I was offered the opportunity to find another job. Fortunately, it didn't take long and we will be moving from the Chicago area to southern Wisconsin (yes, I did disclose that I was a Bears fan). So, we are still planning on hosting a spring rally - if will probably be in Southern Wisconsin however. I just took the batteries out of the Montana for the winter - all buttoned up. We take it up to Wisconsin on Monday for storage.

Since I will be staying up there in a hotel and commuting home on weekends, I should have some time to scope out things. However, most of the CG's are closed for the winter. We did stay at a nice state site at Bong Recreation area, but I don't think a state facility would hold sites for a rally. But it never hurts to ask.

Our first big trip of six months or so starts next May. It looks like that would be just right for us. Please let us know the details and we will plan on it.
