Thanks,
I do not want to hijack this thread. It is important to me and I sure wish there was a way to get Montana's attention.

John,
Have been told by people at the plant that they do read this forum. They also have been known to make changes because of things that we found that we felt were stupid. This is the place to let em know!
Cheers,
Carol

If the Keyston folks read this forum, they should check the latest membership figures, over 6000 Montana owners are watching this issue.

You and your wife will be in our prayers. If there is anything you need or if we can help, let us know.. Montana club is a great group... May God Bless.
I think Keystone should read our concerns and take note, we are the voice of the people and I hope they listen. We take pride in our Montana's and we are the free advertising they rely on for more sales. If we are not satisfied that should affect their sales a bit. Hope they can see it matters to us. How much more could this cost them if they buy by volume???? Does anyone know?? I think we are worth it...

I have had some less than satisfying conversations with some customer service reps at Keystone also, there's a old saying " if the boss doesn't care, no one below him will either"

Well that's a change looks like Keystone is trying to run off good customers. My 2005 has the High Gloss finish. If that has changed I will not have or trade anytime soon. I like the fact that some such as jayco, Cedar Creek, Cardinal, Esclade all offer full body paint just like the Big Sky use to have. My opinion is this make rig even look more higher end. I for one love the full body paint and would not mind paying for it. Jayco offers it as a 4K adder.

John, there's not a more important reason in the world for hijacking a thread. Prayer works and, well, as the saying goes, more is better. And you couldn't find a more faithful group.
I think it's ludicrous to think that Keystone would offer the high gloss finish and just skip over the doors. Who would have ever thought they wouldn't do the doors. What are they thinking!

Sounds like they are hard pressed to cut cost . Wonder what other cost cutting measures are in the works. Will they pass on the cost savings to the consumer? If they have to do things like that to save money they may be in financial trouble. It could be good news if they are, perhaps they will sell out to the Japanese or Chinese and we will get a better product.. Interesting to see how this turns out...

My first thought it was a weight issue, not cost cutting or going out of business.
Can anyone remember what they told us on plant tour, bout how they make the sides?? I think I remember that the windows and doors are cut out at the plant, AFTER all the hi-gloss/gel coat stuff is done. Does that mean the do the same on the storage doors?? If so, they have already paid for the hi-gloss finish. Maybe they cannot use the cut outs for the doors??
Whewie, wish this ole leaky brain could remember. SIGH

Humm..cut down on weight...If the entire extra weight of the high gloss finish is 200lbs how much can the high gloss on 5 doors weigh..on the 3400 that would be the 2 side compartment doors, the front compartment and the 2 small propane doors. Someone better check on the fresh water intake door and the entrance door. The logical weight reduction would be to do away with High Gloss all together and save 200lbs..The door weight thing sounds a bit feeble to me??? Good question for the factory tour...

Oh by the way . I have Thor industries (THO) on my financial listings .They are having a banner year . Little chance of Thor selling any part of their holdings ..just wishful thinking on my part. Reducing cost is something that goes on all the time in every company. There are good ideas and bad ideas...My prediction is the door thing won't last long...

Well if the compartment doors have to be regular felon Fiberglas and not high gloss than why can the make the entry door in high gloss? It's cut out the same way the compartment door are. Sounds like BS to me and they are just cutting corners. True they have upgraded many things on the 07 models even better than my 05 but if they keep cutting tiny corners such as these they will soon get same name and reputation as some of the others out there, then they want be on top of the list any longer.

And the upgraded Montana was SUPPOSED to be the replacement for the Big Sky (per Jeff Rank)???
If this keeps up, a lot of folks will be replacing their Montana with another brand!
