MOC RGV style comes to the end of the season
As Al and I prepare to head back north from the RGV, we would like to thank all of you that attended functions this year in the Valley that we have unofficially organized! Al pulled off 2 impromptu campfires on a couple of cold evenings. We had a pot luck dinner, a dinner at Golden Coral, a trip to the South Texas Museum in Edinburg and to Santa Ana Wildlife Refuge, and lunch at Pepe’s on the River on March 16th. We have enjoyed each and every gathering, great food, great friends, lots of laughs and stories and sharing.
For a number of reasons, none of which is all that important or earth shattering, Al and I are retiring as your unofficial activities directors. God willing and the creek don’t rise, we will be back here at Bentsen Palms Village on our current site next January. It is time for someone else to schedule the activities. Maybe a couple of someones. It is time for some fresh ideas and energy.
We have enjoyed our activities here this winter (cept for that little burp with the pot luck dinner, Carol did not enjoy that so much ) and have enjoyed meeting all the MOC people that came to the Valley.
I am going to post some suggestions for activities for 06-07 Winter season on another thread, hopefully the moderators can put a sticky note on it so that it will not sink into the Archives!
We have had a blast this season, hope you all did too!! MOC people are among the nicest and bestest we have met!
Safe rides to you all, and hope to see you round the RGV in 07!
Al and Carol

We have enjoyed all the get togethers which Al & Carol have put together here in the RGV. It was great meeting all the other MOC members. With luck we will be back in the RGV next winter. We wish everyone a great summer and safe travels. Marge

Carol-
Thank you for your efforts. We enjoyed our stay in the RGV and meeting the MOC folks down there. Hopefully we will make a return trip next winter. As you said, MOC folks are great and truly friendly. Have a safe trip home.

Safe travels everyone. See you in the valley next year. We are going to try to attend the N.E. rally in June and the National in Goshen.In. Maybe we will meet again at one of them.

YES, thanks to Carol and Al, the RGV season was great. We enjoyed all the activities, and hope that next year will be just as good. Regardless of what anyone thinks of the RGV, it is really the people who make it enjoyable, and Montana people are the greatest.

We left the Valley almost two weeks ago and completely forgot to say our goodbyes and thanks on the Forum! We really enjoyed our time with all the MOC folks while we were in the RGV ... we renewed some old friendships and made many new ones ... what a great group! Thanks Carol and Al for all the time and effort you put into making sure everyone had a good time ... it was very much appreciated. And Steve also wanted to thank Al for all the help with the autoformer.
We made it to Moab a couple of days ago and are looking foward to our month here ...

Carol, thank you and Al so much for being our unofficial activities directors. Even though we didn't get to attend all of the gatherings, we felt like family when we were together. What a great group!! We're not sure we'll be coming back to the RGV next year, but here's one thing we did that was interesting for the next activities director - call the Border Patrol office in Harlingen and arrange a tour. The first one to the Valley should call because the fill up fast. Safe travels to all and hope to see you again.

Carol, the tour is of the Border Patrol facility in Harlingen. They have a couple of agents give a talk on the Border Patrol, what they do and how they do it with a picture show and tell, then tour the facility. It was interesting. Afterward we went to lunch at a barbeque joint just down the road about 2 miles or so east of the Border Patrol office. Another tour we did was of the King Aloe Ranch, which was very interesting. If you want, I'll try to find a phone number for you.

KKKK, what I will do is copy this over to the sticky note that remains in the RGV portion of the forum. Then it will bet here for next winter. Thanks
