what does it do?
In my profile there is a box marked Avator. What does it do and whats it for?

It is a place for a cute little graphic of some sort. But it is only activated for Mods and Admin currently. The way the software is written each one would take an authorization by admin. Admin will keep working with ForumCo and perhaps one day soon we'll be able to have a different system.
