New Owners and New MOC Members

Hi,
We bought our new Montana 2980RL August 26 and just returned from our first trip out. We had a great four days and plan to keep on RV'n with our two cats in tow. We found this forum tonight and have been reading along and are finding it most enjoyable and informative. We are looking forward to making new rv friends. However, we haven't had much experience with posting in forums.

Congratulations 2NutsonaFarm,
Glad to hear you enjoyed your new Montana. There are a lot of Montana owners out there and the ones we've met are fantastic. So nice to meet new friends while out RVing. Just read some of the threads that you are interested in and before long you'll be making as many posts as the "old pros".

Happy travels.

Hi Joy,
Yes, our two cats, Tom and Geri, did pretty well considering the Monty is new to them and they are both indoor/outdoor cats at home We keep them inside when traveling and in parks. Tom (3 yrs) gets motion sickness on curvy roads and the vet says he'll out grow it as he travels more. When we got to the park to set up, Geri (4 yrs female) got away from us when transfering her from the truck to her cage. She got scared not knowing where she was so went under the truck for a few minutes. They did fine the rest of the time.

Do you have cats?

This is a friendly forum. Welcome! We do hope that you'll consider joining us at the Montana Rally October 5 - 11. There will be experts there, official and not-so-official, and you can glean a great deal of good info from being around other owners and factory reps. We'd love to meet you.

Karen,

No, we don't have any cats. We do have a Dog (Mickey), he is an Alaskan Spitz. He is pretty old and we won't be taking him with us, as he tends to (as the phrase goes - "run run as fast as you can") and he is practically impossible to catch untill he is tired out.

I have had all sorts of animals all my life, including the cuddly kitty cats, (husband doesn't care for cats though, so they won't be an option). The kind of traveling and sightseeing we plan to do really won't allow us to take any animals with us right now anyway, (I shop alot, and I am one of those who doesn't believe an animal should be inside the shops, restraurants or stores, unless they are service animals), maybe in a few years, we'll get a little cuddly dog that knows how to be quiet like a cat, if there is such a animal? we'll see.

Are you guys going to be able to make it to the Minden Rally? Would really like to meet you. Hope you can. or check out the 2006 Rally.

Joy

That Montana rally Judy mentioned is at Silver City RV Resort, Minden, NV. Actually, it's closer to Carson City than to Minden but nevertheless... It's on US 395. We'd love to have you join us if you can.

Thanks to you Joy, Judy, Steve, Stiles n Dianna, for making us feel so welcome. Wish we could attend the Rally in Nevada but our schedule for October is chock full. Fitting in things to get taken care of with our new Monty was tight. We're having new brakes put on our F-250 in a few days. We are retired but not full timers. We live on 5 acres of walnut orchard and we are trimming trees now. We plan on doing a lot of traveling in the colder months and we have made reservations for the May MOC Western Region Rally. It's not far from us here in Clearlake, Northern CA. We're looking forward to it. Just wish it weren't so far out.

We're also hoping to make that rally in May so maybe we'll meet you folks then if we don't see you somewhere else sooner. Walnut orchard. Those things make a loud noise when they land on the roof of our Montana. We weekended under a walnut tree once!

I'm guessing you wouldn't recommend parking under a walnut tree then. :-)
