Our first flat tire

After towing the Montana over 5,000 miles we had our first and probably not the last flat tire. Luckily it went flat while camping and not on the road. I took it off and had it replaced. A nail was the culprit. BTW we're in Des Moines Iowa and on our way east to the rally. We'll be there Thursday.

Sorry to hear about your flat tire but it happened in a relatively good location. It could have been much worse. Have a great trip on in to the Rally. There are about 25 to 30 rigs already here but there is plenty of nice spots left. See you in a day or two. HamRad

Glad you found it while you were parked rather than cruising down the road and it shredding. Good luck with the rest of your trip.

We had a flat on the way to the Rally. Our lapdog decided he needed a pit stop at that time, When we stopped the rig for that purpose we noticed we had a flat, Luckily, it had not been running flat very long since it was not much hotter than the other 3 tires,
If we had run very long that way I suppose that the tire would have started throwing chunks of rubber and knocked the fender skirt off before we noticed the problem.
We would have then probably thought we had a blow out when in fact it turned out that the valve stem had failed.

We were eastbound on I-80 Mile Post # 2 when this happened. Good Sam's Emergency Road Service contracter was there in 20 minutes and we were rolling again in about 40 total minutes.

We also had a flat on the way to the rally. Only delayed about two hours. It was on the inside dually and we couldn't get the tire off. Truck to the rescue got lost, we were on a different x-way then he thought. Anyway, alls well that ends well and we made the rally in one piece.
