3500 predator generator

Do I need to use my surge protector for a predator 3500 inverter generator?
I made a bonded neutral plug already.

I don’t, never had a problem, but that doesn’t mean I never will.... been using mine for about 5 years. The power is pretty clean never an issue.

It wouldn't hurt. If it ever runs out of gas during use the power output can fluctuate.

No you don’t need a surge protector. These generators put out cleaner power than the power company does.

I do not profess to know much about electricity but researching generator specs I found that "Pure sine wave inverters produce the equivalent to utility-grade power."

Then with differing brands of generators there are varying degrees of total harmonic distortion and whether they are pure sine wave or "clean" sine wave, etc. Generally, the higher cost of the generator, the higher quality of power output. Do I use a surge protector? No. Is it wise to use one with an inferior generator? Probably so.

I have this generator, but unfortunately haven't been able to go out and give it a try yet.

I have the Progressive Industries EMS HW50C hardwired in my rig and that, combined with the protection provided on the generator itself will probably be more than adequate for any type of "surge".

I contacted progressive the maker of my surge protector.
They said to use the protector i need to make a neutral bonded plug which i did. Actually I made 2 of them Always can use a backup . Because most if all inverter gens. Have open grounds and the surge protectors see that and will not let power go to your rv if not bonded ground.

OK, good info to have for sure!

We were going to do a short trip to a full hookup RV park nearby, but try the generator to sort things our (never used one for RVing before).

Can you post a pic or two and maybe more details for the bonded neutral ground plug adapter?

Thanks

I could not get my 3400 Champion to run my microwave so I hooked up the EMS to measure the current draw and it showed an open ground and wouldn't let any juice through. I made a bonded plug and all is good and the microwave works fine.
