Newbie 2018 3730FL

Hello all,
We are brand new to the RV world. Picking up my new 3730FL Christmas Present tomorrow at Camping World and could use some advice from the experts. Given we are DirectTV customers we had the DTV dish installed, i also ordered the wireless back up camera system. Before i walk off the lot, what else should I make sure I purchase? Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Newbie Fiver...

Welcome aboard to the Forum and enjoy that new unit. One thing you definitely need to do is get a copy of a PDI (Pre-delivery inspection)or even several and do not let the salesman or the service tech rush you on checking everything that is on that list. I think there is still a PDI list or several here on the Forum yet but if not you can Google it and get copies or ask here for a copy. Make them show you how to do EVERYTHING concerning the unit even if you have had one before. It's nearly impossible to remember everything they will tell you but you can solve that problem by actually recording everything on your smart phone or a video camera he/she tells and shows you. IF you are not sure on something ask them to repeat it or show you again. If they refuse DO NOT SIGN ANYTHING until you are TOTALLY satisfied with the PDI and all questions are answered AND everything you find wrong on the PDI is completely fixed to your satisfaction!

Welcome to the forum! May your new rig bring you many years of wonderful memories. Rondo's advice is good and you'll be ahead of the game if you follow it.

Welcome to the forum, this is a great place to learn and share.

As Rondo said don't pull it away until you understand the unit. If you have anything serious or several minor issues let them fix it before paying for it. They should give you a decent rundown of accessories you will need but here is my starter list: pressure regulator, fresh water hose, black flush hose, chocks, dump hose, can of WD40 or similar for your hitch, 50 amp to 30 amp adapter to use in campgrounds without 50 amp, EMS (electrical management system) to protect from over and under voltage and other issues. Biggest thing to bring is patience - don't be in a hurry getting off the lot and don't rush once you get on the road.

Enjoy your new rig!

Congrats on the new rig! And you will eventually end up carrying a good assortment of tools, a bottle jack, air compressor, air gauge, etc.

We agree with all of the comments about completing your PDI. Our Dealer was 4 hours away and we just caved and finally gave up because although they had WEEKS to address our PDI they wore us out going through all of the excuses why things were not done or why it was not even washed for delivery.
For a new Rig things were a little unfinished at first but we learned how to fix most of it. The Fall Rally at the Factory in Goshen, IN was just the best investment of our time yet. We walked away feeling a lot more confident about how problems should be handled.
Good luck!

Follow a list and don't leave until the repairs (very normal) get completed to your satisfaction. Camping World tends to not be as concerned with making things right after the purchase is complete. Purchase a nice compact tool set and plan on making the minor repairs yourself. Not only is is necessary but it is also good in you get to know and understand your unit. Congrats on your purchase and Enjoy the adventures!

Welcome to the forum. After a few trips you will quickly realize what things that you really need, some that are nice to have and some that you will carry around for years and never use.
You should be enjoying your new rig now. Some of the little things that you have found that can be easily fixed by yourself you might as well go ahead and fix them. That will save yourself aggravation and time at the dealership.
