Bathroom door in the 3720RL

Good Morning!

I did a search and couldn't find any info on this question.

My wife and I are looking to move up to a Montana 3721RL from our Mounaineer 295RK.

Background - Two of the "Needs" on our list is bathroom access when the coach is buttoned up and access to the refrigerator when buttoned up. The fridge is a no brainer with the 2016 and residential fridge, but the door to the bathroom in the 2016 we looked at yesterday, has a door that works like an Ellison Balanced Door. How an Ellison door works is almost impossible to explain! We used them on Navy Warships going down into engine and auxiliary rooms. Not only are they fire doors, but also don't restrict access in the passageways when open. There is no 2016 brochure available to describe or name the door.

The Bedroom/Closet slide comes in and appears that in "May" block the passageway door when closed.

Does anyone have the 2016 3721 with this door?

Does it block access to the bedroom/bathroom with the slides in?

I love my salesman, but putting in a battery and operating the slides just ain't in the cards yet. Chuckle ..........

The same door is used in the 3950BR too going into the bathroom.

Thanks in advance!

I cannot say that I have seen this new bathroom door in the 3721. I did see it at the Fall Rally in the side bath models, such as the 3950.

I have to say, that personally, I thought it might be one of the best improvements they initiated this year.

I felt it improved access to the bathroom immensely.

I was no fan of the prior door configuration in a side aisle bath.

Looking at the drawing it seems you may be able to access the bathroom in the 3721, but, I would have to see that baby with the slides in to be sure.

This is one of the things that has never ceased to amaze me - why manufacturers don't figure out what owners will need to access with the slides in. (That along with having shore power receptacles on the back end of most rigs!) I've seen several new SOBs that appear to have NOTHING accessible with slides in. I tell anyone asking me what to look for in a 5er to have the dealer pull everything in and see what they can get to along with doing a really thorough PDI.

For seasonal campers ... the rear shore power receptacle isn't much of an issue. In my neck of the woods ... many sites around the lakes have the utilities to the rear of the site.

Agree, in our winter park, pedestal is at the back of our site.
