Tammy, is it running just like the "Fan Only" setting? Just not cooling?
If so the compressor just isn't kicking in. Where Ozz at???
*On Edit~ I just turned my air on. Starting to get warm in here... Set the thermo to "Cool" at 73 in my 3400 (Thermostat was OFF). My delay is 2:25 - every time. Fan kicks on first after delay, then approx 3 sec later you can hear a "click" as the compressor kicks in. Cool air...
I also have a 2nd AC that I got with the express purpose of using it as a backup. Had to use it once so far. Peace of mind.

Dave, I'm not sure if I'm answering this right, but the A/C sounds like it's running just fine, but there's NO AIR coming out anywhere. I mean nothing. No fan, no air. Bernie explained to me that the compressor should not run unless the fan is running. Not being A/C inclined (except on the thermostat side), I have no idea then how it sounds like the unit is running correctly with no air coming out anywhere.
Did I answer your question half right???
Edited: After reading your edit. here is our A/C process.
Turn on thermostat. Hear the click. Wait a few minutes. A/C sounds like it is running. NO AIR is coming out of the vents.
Tammy

Thanks, Tammy. If you fan is running and your getting nothing out of your vents, then their is a problem with your venting in the attic. I don't think your compressor can run without your fan running. Not sure... Someone wakeup Ozz, please...

Tammy, set your thermo to "Fan Only" (no number setting is allowed for degrees). Does that put out anything through any of the vents at that setting?

You have to have a disconnect or blockage in your vent system, Tammy. You can hear the fan running in "fan only", right?

No. No fan noise. No air either.
Only when the A/C is on the A/C mode, then I can hear the A/C unit sound like it's running. But still no air.

Apparently, I don't hear right. The A/C unit kicked on for Bernie and he said it sounds like it is straining. Sounds normal to me, but not to Bernie. . .

Your fan is out of commission. It's not running if you can't hear it in "fan only" mode (there is no delay in this mode) - it's just not turning on. A wire could be off/loose Not sure if that fan has it's own reset separate from the A/C compressor - which I think is working.
OZZ!!!!

Bernie and Tammy, you may have a birds nest up there, you may have to go on the roof and check the cover and look inside. I don't know how it is up there but down here in northern Wisconsin they are building nests everywhere. Or it may be something else entirely but check the easy stuff first.. Might a snow bird nest... Dave, I think (not entirely sure, though) that Bernie has already checked the fan to see if it was freed up of ice. I would assume that means he got a good look at it and determined that it is spinning free? He would probably would have seen any nests in or near that area.

OK, then maybe it could be the wires to the fan, our rig had a lot of lose stuff, fan blade screws, light fixture wires yada yada yada. I think he can get at those from inside, or it could be the controller. At this point I am just grasping at straws... Dave

We are thinking loose wire too. Well, we are praying it's a loose wire. He's taking the cover off now to inspect and see what he can find.

This is all very reminiscent of 'Appolo 13' Thousands of miles away trying to figure out what is wrong with your rig by going into mine and looking around, spooky... Dave

Right now we are trying to find a model number so we can google for any troubleshooting ideas. So far, nothing. . .

Well good luck, we are going to bed now because tomorrow we take our Beast in for all the warranty stuff that we could never get done in Georgia. Y'all have a good one and I hope it is something simple like a stupid wire.. Talk to y'all tomorrow.. Dave and Betsy
