Another apollo oven died

Can't remember if I posted this or not, but second one in four months. Wonder how many Keystone will replace during the course of the warranty period?? I would switch but DW still loves having that second oven (the convection part) available. I know better than to argue, a man has got to eat!!!!!

Bingo-

Note my signature - we are an Apollo free family .

If you get tired of warranty, the Kenmore Elite convection/micro fits right in that hole.

Illapah -

I believe so - to find out for sure talk to pep1977 or Countrygirl. They installed them in place of the Apollo - http://www.montanaowners.com/forums/...hTerms=,Apollo.

I got by without the convection oven for years in our previous RVs, so decided to install a good old reliable microwave instead.

Brad: How much clearance do you have w/mic. My TT mic overheats in about 6 minutes and shuts down until it cools off (Sylvania) even though it has vents on top & bottom and there is a small clearance on sides (no fan). My old Prowler mic ran and ran w/o problems but I can't remember the brand (yeah-I am 71).

Allen,

I installed an Amana microwave, as it was one of the few that came with ventilation ductwork as part of the trim kit. It actually didn't have any side vents or side clearance requirements, but required 2" top, bottom, and rear.

I would almost say it is a malfunction in the microwave, especially if it is a factory install. The thermal sensor may have gotten overly sensitive.

The mic gets hot as he-l. I think it is a poor selection for the space but I want to pull it and check where the exhaust is. The side clearance is only about 1/2" but there is plenty below & above. What is the model # of your Amana?

It's an Amana Radarange AMC5143AAB. ~$130 + $65 trim kit (Sears/Great Indoors)

It's a 1.4 cf (you get a little bigger oven by eliminating the convection).

Allen - CW also sells the Dometic microwave that I bet is the exact same one you had in your Prowler. That's what we had in our 2003 Monty and they were pretty bullet proof. We went with this one as it was a little bit bigger for same price.

The Prowler was a '95 so who knows. My mic has about as much clearance as your with some on the side as well. How long have you run yours at one time?

I installed the kenmore elite and have had no problems with the installation so far. I have not put a cooling fan on it yet to be able to use the convection part of the unit, but the overall fit is great. as soon as i come up with the cooling fan to help keep it cool i will let you know. had to make the stand a little more narrow, but that is it. will try to get pictures as soon as i can.

Bob & Lee,
Just out of curiosity what is the build date on your Apollo. Tag inside door on bottom front.
