New Slider on Screen Entry Door
I know many of you have come up with low cost ingenious ways to open the screen door from the inside without having to open the slider. I saw the new sliders with a spring loaded knob that opens the screen from the inside without having to slide open the slider at a dealer the other day. I believe these new sliders were incorporated around the 2012 - 2013 model years. They are a direct replacement for your old slider, look and are OEM, only cost @$16.00 (I ordered one), and work really slick. Part number is 321109 at any Keystone dealer.

It will not work on the older screen doors. The slide area is larger than the button slide. Our's is a 2009 and it would not fit. FYI....

I knew I should have patented mine. We worked our own, just like what they came up with, except ours is on a dark tinted storm door on a 2010 model.

Well heck ... that's what I get for thinking out loud. I'll modify my recommendation and say "if your slider is 12" long and 9.75" high" ... this new slider will fit. Just bow out the old one and bow in the new one.

dieselguy,
Thanks for the info, that is a great, low cost mod. If I had that available back in 07 I would have got one, and also recommend it to folks, it is a pain to have to slide the plastic cover over.
There is a clear cover you can get also, I don't know if the new ones come with a clear, or the colored one.
Here is what I did with a bicycle spoke, I think I got the idea from Steve and Vickie.
Sue came up with the Jeweled Bead, she used a small round file and worked the bead for 30 or 40 minutes to make it fit the spoke cap.

As you can see my 2011 door is pretty basic ... doesn't even have the inside handle that Ozz's has ... however the new slider works great.

My 2011 came with this slider!
We love it....
also added a handle bar inside the door just above the slider..
Next project is to cut plexi-glass for over the screen door.
