kitchen sink faucet loose

Every time we get to a campsite the kitchen sink faucet is loose, sometimes very loose. There is a washer underneath the faucet which is attached to the "flexible" pipe that is loose, I keep tightening it but the road vibrations seem to loosen it. (The faucet is supposed to be able to swivel so you can put water in either sink). Has anyone else had this problem and if so how did you fix it?

It appears that you should have a couple of alternatives. One would be to place a second nut underneath the sink to prevent the nut from backing off. I am assuming that the washer getting loose has an underlying cause of the nut under the sink backing off. The other fix may be to put some teflon tape or pipe putty on the underlying threads and then put the nut on. All of this is assuming that the nut under the sink is what is actually backing off. Everytime I am working on the sink in a contorted position (a basic requirement) DW always has a comment to the daughter about checking the nut under the sink (namely me!!) Ha Ha!! Hope this helps. I will state that my fix for the kitchen faucet was more radical. I replaced it!!!

We had the same problem on our late 2006 3400RL. I tightened it several times only to have it come loose quite quickly. Only when a dealer got the right kind of wrench on it and tightened it agressively did the problem finally go away.

Maybe a wave washer will work if it comes loose again. Wave washers look like the name implies and when tightened they keep pressure against the nut, where a lock washer bite into the metal. Bingo's suggestion of a second nut sounds good to me as well. Steve

I have the EXACT same problem and it's really quite annoying.... not enough that I've ever made much of attempt at fixing, though.

I like the second nut idea... I'll give it a try... thanks!
