Mountaineer Axle Replacement

We have a 2006 Mountaineer 329 RLS, which we bought new.We have had to replace the spring shackles and equalizers because they were badly worn and elongated. Then we found out the axles were out of alignment and as a result the tires were badly worn to various degrees. Spring shackles and equalizers were replaced under extended warranty and Dexter is sending new axles which will be replaced at my cost even though the two year warranty is not up.They want me to ship the axles back to Indiana at my expense where they will determine if it is a product defect. At this writing I will be out approx. $600 cdn when this is all done.
Question is: has anyone else had axle problems? If so what can be done? I thought i was being so wise buying the extended warranty.

Terry, we have a 2006 303RLD. I just finished painting the wheels and changing all the valve stems a couple weeks ago. All the tires look like new. We have at most around 3000 miles on the trailer. Unfortunately, it is on it's third week in the shop for other issues.

Hi Terry,

We have the 32PHT Mountianeer (2006). Have owned it for 18 months and logged 18,500 miles to date. No axle or suspension problems whatsoever. In fact, still running the factory Mission tires which have worn evenly and still have plenty of life left in them.

Sorry for you issues, I would certainly expect the warranty to cover all your expenses as I do not believe this is normal or acceptable.

Good luck, Tim

Re; My previous message regarding axles
We have approx. 25000 miles on the trailer according to my trailer Log. However a friend who we travel with has the same number of miles on his identical trailer with similar loads( within specs),has tires that look like new and no trouble with axles.

I have a 2004RL that had bad ALKO axles that lost camber(alignment). I had to have 2 new axles. Do a search on tire wear in this category for the whole story. This goes back to about May 2007.
