Storage Door Discoloration

Greetings long time camper: Owned 5 travel trailers & 1 motor home. First 5th wheel purchase: 2014 Montana 3100RL since May 2020. Very satisfied so far.
Has anyone a problem with using WD40 on storage door latches. Only to see discoloration or a yellowish stain to exterior afterwards? It’s the only thing Ican think of that may have caused it.

We had that problem on our 2012 3585SA with the ODS basement door. Could not have been WD-40 as I never used it in that area or any other latches. I never knew for sure what caused it but suspected moisture from rain.

I've used WD-40 on all my campers, doors, storage doors, anything that moves and squeeks. Never had a discoloration issue.

Spray paint goes a long way in covering faded and discolored weather exposed surfaces on your RV.
