Looks like fun, Ozz, keep after it, we used to find hundreds of pounds a year. Of course I worked for Phelps Dodge Mining Company for 16 years. Copper, Gold, and Silver paid the way for many years. Enjoy the desert, it can be the great place in the world.

I did a little prospecting on the American River here in California today, and managed to get a little gold. Life is good.

We're almost done painting, we'll be out there Monday of next week. Can't wait to get out there myself!

This was my last take for a spot I found. was a total of about 6 hours finding this with a metal detector and a little over 1/3 ounce.

It was so quiet back there, so peaceful.
It was funny, when I took the lid off of the bucket, in about 3 minutes or less, butterflies started to come, we probably had 30 flying around, we splashed some water on some rocks for them to drink, then flies, wasps, all kinds of flying bugs came in for the water. They can probably smell it for miles. It is bone dry out there, no rain since???
Sue stuck the Scorpion she had in the panning gravel to some Gorilla tape..he is still there.

That center one was if I remember right just shy of 5 grams.
31.1 grams to the ounce
Here is a what some of it looked like as dug as you can tell the size setting my hand.
