110v outside power outlet

We've been out in our New 344 RET Mountaineer and I still can't believe the factory/design crew screwed up the location of the outside 110V outlet. It is located on the dinette slide away from the awning. If I want to set up a table under the awning and plug anything into a 110V outlet, I have to run and extension cord. I sure hope they change that location for the future.

Welcome COPINMO to the ever growning MOC family.

If we have learned one thing about the RV industry over the years it's that NOT ONE, NONE, ZERO, ZILCH, NADA of the so called RV designers ever spent a minute in one of their designs muchless ever lived in one. If Keystone and all the other RV manufacturers had a lick of sense they would higher us dumb RVers and dump all these Coledge Edgacated Injunears. But than again what do we know? We only spend half our lives in them.

COPINMI,
Congrats! and Welcome to the Forum.
Glenn is correct. I have been modifying my rig since the day I had it delivered. Most of the switches, & outlets are not thought out very well. As well as many other items, I guess for the money, we get a pretty nice rig, but we all know they can do better.
Have a great time, and don't be a stranger, we can learn from your posts as well as the wealth of knowledge here.

Perhaps a light in the darkness, when in Goshen recently we learned Keystone has a few fifthwheels permanently in an rv park for use by their employees. I don't know that anyone stays in them more than a weekend or maybe a week but it's a start. Hopefully those folks will report back this kind of problem.

See another Montana or Mountaineer on the road? Flash lights twice, it might be one of us!

On the original subject, Keystone, why not outlets on BOTH sides of the unit??? Another 10' of wire & a $10.00 outlet/box combo would please a lot of folks...

COPINMI, we feel the same way about the bad outlet location.
I even posted about the issue when we first got our 329 RLT. We, too have a Mounty and wanted/needed an outside outlet that was usable. We(read: husband)installed a 12 v and a 110 outlet in the basement. Use them every single time that we are out!
