Sacramento to Marina California

Taking a trip from Sacramento to Marina California. Always took the Bay Area route before. Thinking of avoiding Bay Area by taking I5 south to 152/156 (at Santa Nella) to 101 to 1 south. How is the 152/156 route towing 34 foot fifth wheel? If the road is OK, it should be a less stressful drive. Mileage is similar regardless of route.

I tow my 40 footer that route once or twice a year. Take Hwy-152 to Hwy-156 to Hwy-101/156 to Marina. There is a long grade over the Pacheco pass but other than that an easy drive.

Have done that route from So Cal going to Santa Cruz and Bodega Bay with our 37 footer and quad cab long bed. The turns in the hills are easy, some passing lanes for folks to go around, good road surface. I don’t recall the % grade (prob 6% or less) but would say it’s not steep on either side.
