travel advice

DW and I are getting very excited about making our first long trip in mid to late January. We have never been to AZ except one business trip to Phoenix years ago and never been anywhere in NV. Plan is to go from San Antonio to Huachuca City, AZ and tour the ghost towns and then go up to Las Vegas to attend the Safari Club International Convention in early February. Tim Millington who is based here in San Antonio has been an awesome resource, but any recommendations on campgrounds, routes to take, sights to see would be much appreciated.

If your looking for an inexpensive place to stay when going thru New Mexico try The Ranch, an Escapee park in Lakewood, NM. Great folks and low cost, particularly for first timers.

Rv parks in vegas, only really one option which is oasis las vegas rv resort at windmill/blue diamond parkway. Didn't look at the few casino parks when we flew in two years ago to visit friends there...so don't know if they went downhill over time or not. Route 95 north into vegas from arizona/needles calif area was always a good road to travel. Used that route to go back and forth to quartzsite when we lived in vegas. John
