No propane to stove, tanks full, propane generator runs fine... ideas?
Hi,
We're brand new RVers on our first trip out in our 3731FL Montana, and we're having a puzzling problem.
Our stove/oven isn't getting gas from the full propane tanks, even though the Onan 5500 propane generator runs fine. We had the generator installed when we bought the rig brand new this Summer.
Any help, or ideas?
Thanks in advance,
Rich

Did you give it a minute? Sometimes it takes a while for the propane to travel up to the stove and refrigerator.

Follow up on scattershot recommendation. Light a match and hold it to the burner as you turn the burner knob to high. If the line has air in it you'll see the flame of the match move/flicker with the air. If it is doing that the propane is coming. Mine takes about 90+ seconds to bleed the air from the line. Seems like an eternity when waiting for ignition.

We also had an issue with the wire on the igniter coming loose. Needed to lift the stove top to reconnect the wire and then it would work.

There's no flow of air, or propane at all...

I will bet you have one of the common Montana problems. The flexible gas line connecting the slide to the RV is kinked. Take a look under the kitchen slide and check.

If you have the new Furrion stove, to light it you have to turn it on like normal but, hold the knob down while trying to light it.

2x this and then check for kinked hose.
You will get no gas unless the igniter lightss it first

No propane
Search for previous thread titled “No Propane”. There are pics of how the supply line under the slide out should look (not kinked).

Thanks SO much to everyone, and especially CRUZIN 2, and jeffba!
I was about to go under and check for a kinked hose, when I decided to try the holding the knob in thing, (I admit I was skeptical lol), and VOILA! It fired right up. You guys are geniuses, and the best part is, now my wife thinks I'M a genius... lol.
Thanks again to everyone for their help!

Had a similar problem with my 2019 305RL. Dealer found a pinched LP gas line aft of the tank selector.

You have to bleed the air out of the gas lines

Thanks again, all... the problem has been solved, and as so often happens, it was human error...

That is what is great about this forum - learn so much from other people! I was about to suggest SLOWLY turning propane bottles on to prevent the check valve from clicking in - I thought that might be contributing to your issue. Thanks for your post - I learned from it too.

We had a similar issue, labor day we were baking biscuits, and the following weekend nothing, though the stove top worked fine. It's currently at the dealer for winterization and warranty work, the dealer can't figure it out, and everything is connected, so a new oven is ordered.

Second season back in the South and guess what, took this dummy 10 minutes to remember to hold down the knob to light the stove. Maybe next year I won't have to be retrained.

I also use the method of turning the gas on SLOWLY at the tank, but it still takes awhile for the propane to come from the front of trailer to very back where the stove is at on a 3000RK.
