Second time -- same spot

The spring bracket broke at the weld on the street side. It happened sometime today. I don't remember hitting anything hard, but noticed the unit seemed to be leaning. When I parked for the evening, I looked and sure enough the bracket was off.

This happened about two years ago. Can't figure the cause other than something is creating undue stress on the suspension.

Stiles. Was it the forward or rear bracket? Who did the repair first time it happened? Can a heavier bracket be used this time?
We have our rig in for warranty work and I wasn't too impressed with the way the rigs are moved within the compound. The tractors lift the front end about a foot higher than normal. This puts a lot of weight on the rear axle, springs and brackets.

I left a word out of my description. Street side most rear spring hanger.

Hmmm! Strange that the weld broke, or did I read that wrong. Welds are typically stronger than the original material. I could have been a poor (as inefficient) welder.

Good luck.

Stiles,

When mine broke on the 2001, the welder welded the hanger then added a piece of angle to the front and back of the hanger and welded it to the bottom of the frame and to the edge of the hanger. This made it real strong.
The original factory welder got the weld so hot he almost burned through the hanger where it was welded to the frame. This is why it broke.
Hope you get it fixed and back on the road soon.
