Tonopah and then Sam's Town

Leaving today and be somewhere in Tonopah NV this evening 1/7. There used to be a big open lot next door to a a little casino. Might stay there. Last time I was in Tonapah it was 19 degrees and snowing sideways. We stayed at a casino RV park. Then leaving 1/8 for Sam's Town in Las Vegas. Be there till Monday 1/11. Shouldn't be too hard to find. We'll be in the white Montana. Oh yeah, sez WorkerB on the front cap. Don't know what site we will be in yet. Stop by and say HI! Four hours later should be near Quartzsite.

We are hoping to get outta here around 10 AM. Real foggy but 38 degrees so I think we're OK with icy roads. Hey Jim, I heard a rumor that Sam's Town has a sea food buffet on Friday night. All the crab legs you can eat. Sure am glad I got rid of that monster TV that came with the Monty. Putting the flat screen made a lot of room where the old TV lived. Problem is Roxy claimed the space as her "Bead Cabinet" Now the Monty is listing toward the right. Safe travels.
Ray, I am bringing my rock I told you about for your inspection. All I know is it is real hard, real heavy, and has red ribbon stripes running through it. See ya on Monday. John

John, we always stay at the rest stop at Millers, which is about 10 miles this side of Tonopah. Plenty of space to park, restroom facilities, and enough lower in altitude that it's warmer (at least by a little bit) than Tonopah.

I'll be visiting Brent in the next few days to pick up some batteries and accessories.

Have a safe trip, and we'll see you in Q next week.

Bob

Gang,
We are located in the Riviera RV park on Palm st, between Sahara and St. Louis, in Las Vegas and enjoying the 60+ deg days this last week or so. Will be leaving for Texas via Arizona on the 11th. Hope it warms up by then. :-)

Hey Stimpy123,
We are at the Ramada RV park in Tonopah. Gonna head out for Vegas within the next hour.... or so. Still haven't turned on the water pump as it's still freezing temps here. DW thinks she has an air leak around the seal in the bedroom slide. She wants my side of the bed cause it's warmer! I think it's because the dog sleeps on my side of the bed and the extra weight causes a better seal on my side. Since we are leaving for warmer weather we may never know. We have big plans to visit with my son and his wife while in Vegas. Hopefully we can meet up while in Vegas. Are you coming to Quartzsite while on your way to Texas?

We had visited Quartzite a couple of years ago and don't think we will be going there this trip. Thanks anyway. Will take a moment tomorrow to look you up at Sams Town. You are probably here already, as it is about 5 pm local. Welcome to warmer weather. Will look you up tomorrow. See ya.

Hey Charlie,
I said Hi to your money like you asked. I heard "money talks" BUT sure nuff mine talked and said "BYE". DW won about $40.00. Now she wants to play BINGO. I think we are too young for BINGO. No matter what, I refuse to buy a dauber!
See Ya at Q.

Stimpy 123, Got your note in my door. Sorry we missed you. Made a quick stop at the Verizon store to activate my new air card and lost 3 hours going round and round with those folks. Spent the remainder of the day with my Son and his lovely bride. Overall it was a GREAT day in Las Vegas. Maybe next time we can get together.

WorkerB, We look forward to meeting you and any MOC members. I discovered a noise in our TV on Saturday, and of course the Chevy dealer closed at 2, so will have to have them look at it tomorrow. Hopefully it won't delay our departure much more than a day. Since I don't have an appointment, I don't know how soon, tomorrow, the dealer can diagnose the noise, if it occurs again and then fix it. You know the trouble with noises, they dissapear when the technician drives it. Of course the noise hasn't occured again the rest of the day on Saturday and today, so I don't know how this will work. The problem as I see it, is the noise occured without the load of the rig, and there is a lot of desert between Las Vegas and Phoenix, and I don't want to be broken down along the road.
Have fun in Quartzite.
Happy trails

Worker B,
I noticed after I posted the last remark, that you use airbags on your Silverado. What type do you have, as I want to help lower the truck's headlights and put a little more weight on the front axle.

Steve,
I use Firestone Air Bags. Without a load in the bed I measure the height of the bed at the tailgate. It is 35.5". At that point the headlights are pointed where they are supposed to be. When I add the Monty the bed lowers to ??? Anyway I then add enough air to bring the bed back to the factory height of 35.5" The ride is fine, no chucking and people don't flash their lights at me. I think they were a couple hundred dollars and I installed them myself in about 3 hours.

Thanks for the insight about the air bags. I am looking to install them after arriving in Texas. I have just put Michelin tires on the rear of my 05 Silverado CC 2wd, and they don't seem as stable as the Bridgestones that I had before. I got over 50k miles on the originals, so went to them again. Two of them didn't last long, so went back to the Discount Tire dealer, and he didn't have anymore of the Bridgestones in his store that day, but boasted that the Michelins would be a better choice. I don't think that they carry the weight as well, even at 80lbs. Want to shift some of the load to the front by lifting the truck even an inch or two. I have a stationary 5th wheel and long bed, so have no way to shift weight, without unloading the Monty. :-) Talk to you later.
