Ken and Velda,

We recommend the Creekside RV park @ the 2nd traffic light turn. It has an excellent rating and priced moderately.

Stayed here last fall. http://www.riverplantationrv.com/
The place was immaculate. Laundry facilities and bathrooms were spotless. Sites were easy to get into. Staff were friendly. We stayed along the river. Had a concrete patio with picnic table. I had read some people say on this forum it was noisy along the river from traffic and a business across the river. We did not notice that and wouldn't hesitate to stay there again. Its also before all the heavy traffic of Pigeon Forge. It's close to a bypass road that takes you around Pigeon Forge if you just want to go to the mountains. There is a super WalMart less than a mile away and they also have the best grocery store around.

We enjoyed our stay last October at Twin Creeks as well. It is a small RV park, the grounds are very clean and the staff are extremely friendly. The sites along the creek are nice. The RV park is next to the trolley stop, so no driving is required to go downtown to Gatlinburg. I believe the trolley can be ridden to Pidgeon Forge as well.

Twin Creeks was a wonderfu campground, and as posted on the trolly stop. It is a little tight, but they will help you park if you need it. The only issue you had with them was staining on our RV from the trees. We were parked on the creek under some large trees in June of 2007. After we left we washed the rig, upon doing so we found about 1/3 of the RV had dark spots from the trees. We did manage to get the spots off with alot of elbow grease. Not sure of names, but there were some other campgrounds down a bit on the same road.

Sometime early in July. Thats the start of a trip out west, to including a cruise to Alaska during August. Should be back in Va by Sept.

Will stay in touch through the forum. We may cross paths. I'll buy the first cup of java - or whatever.
