Dometic Extended Warranty
Just got a letter from Dometic today wanting me to add 3 yrs of warranty coverage for my air-conditioner. Just wonder what everyones opionion was on this? I usually hear that extended warranties are a waste. I am new to the Montana Fifth Wheels and just wondering if it would be a good investment or a waste of time.

Muddflapp, I opted for the dealer extended warranty, the air conditioner is covered under that, so I tossed the Dometic letter when I git it.

I wouldn't be wihout an extended warranty on any major purchase I make. There are those who will disagree, but we have always opted for an extended warranty. Like Bob, we opted for the dealer extended warranty.

We have a 7 year extended warranty on the entire camper. The probability that the Camper will suffer a major failure is .... IMO very high. We have already in one year had failures with the 1/2 time oven, Hot water heater Fridge, Converter thermostat, Hydraulic pump. I am sure more will follow or these will break again.

We, like others have opted for the dealer extended warranty. We wanted to keep everything under one warranty.

Our refrigerator failed under the original extended warranty after four years of use. The extended warranty replaced the refrigerator and Dometic offered me a six year warranty, 3 years plus 3 years extended. I purchased it. Since manufacturers today seem to produce products that are made to last only a short time, the extended warranty is worth the money.
