odor

We have begun having a bad sewer smell indoors when I dump the black water. We have been fulltimers for almost 2 yrs and we never had that smell indoors before. However, the last two times that I dumped, the smell indoors was pretty strong. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Check roof vent for bird or bug nests. see if it is blocked.

I had this problem when I first got mine. You have to close both the galley and gray tanks when you dump the black tank or it backs up. Hope this helps.

I found the same thing.. Galley or grey open then you will sometimes get that odor.

galley and grey valves are closed and the vents appear to be open. Any other ideas? Could the vent be blocked further down the pipe where I may not be able to see?

Doug and Anita,
I think there is a valve or vent under the lavatory that will cause odor like a black tank when it is malfunctioning. On my 2955 it is at the top of a black pipe near the wall. You might check this
Good luck!
