Carlsbad Campgrounds

I wonder if any one has stayed at either one I found on the Internet.
One is Whites City seems to be fairly reasonable at $20.00 per night, there are a few amenities like store, pool, restaurant, no Wifi but is at the entrance to the caverns. the other is a KOA about 20 miles north at $10.00 more has a barbecue, pool, with Wifi and larger camp areas.
my question is has anybody stayed at either how were the grounds or does any one have other recommendation’s about areas you stayed at in this area?

We stayed at Whites City one night. Nothing special just average campground but convient to caverns.

The KOA is one of the nicest we have ever stayed at and worth the extra $. It is one of the very few KOA's you will hear me say anything good about.

Thanks for the replies, will probably stay at the KOA. We will be spending several days in the area and the comfort factor comes into play over lower cost, Hope to spend some time on the trail of Billy the Kid in Lincoln County. Also on the way home stoping at Alamogordo will go see the Museums in that area it will be the first trip in over a year. Missed the Trinity site by a week oh well maybe in Oct.

We also stayed at that KOA near the caverns about 3 weeks ago. Very nice. You will need 2 or 3 days if you want to take all the tours.

sheiba1, While you're on Billy's trail, don't forget Hico, Texas where one of the person's claiming to be Billy (Brushy Bill) lived and died. There's even a Brushy Bill museum (of sorts) there. While there get some homemade pie at the Koffee Kup Kafe so the trip won't be a total loss
