Better lookin'
Yes they are better lookin'. I finally got around to getting those decorator floor registers that some of you mentioned. They are definitely stronger also. Someone put a narrow heel right through my OEM register.
These new registers have an adjustable louvre. If you installed one like this, did you leave that in or did you snap it out? Unless it unduely restricts the air flow (it is deeper cut), I am prone to leave it in to give better control to heat distribution.

I changed mine also, they are much stronger and the air distibution is a lot better. If I find it cooler in the bedroom I close one in the living area, it works great.

Left ours in. Changing out the registers was the first modification we made to the Montana from ideas here on the forum. Thanks.

Question for those of you with the new adjustable vents. Does the adjustment tab stick up above the vent? Our vents are located such that we'd no doubt stub our toes on that at least once per day. I'd like to have adjustables but not if it's going to cause more discomfort than it solves. Thoughts?
Thanks.

Haven't changed them out, but plan to soon. I have removed the poor tape job that the factory did and retaped the openings. Then cleaned the sawdust out of the vents, much better now!

Steve,
The louvre control is very low profile on the ones I bought from Lowe's. It simply has enough rise to let you move your finger across it to make whatever change you wish. I would guess the rise above the register is less than an eighth of an inch and the tab is about an inch long. I would not predict any toe stubbing.
Yeah, I had to do some cleaning on the duct too.

Thank you, Stiles. We've talked about changing to adjustable vents but just haven't done it.
Now another question. Does anyone know the location of the source end of the two-inch duct into the belly? I'm wondering if I could increae warm airflow into the belly during subfreezing winter nights by adjusting one or more vents.

Folks:
I can't get to my coach until Saturday. What size duct did you need 4x12 or 4x10. Thanks I want to pick some up and install this weekend. I have a Lowes about 2 miles away from me. I think I need for Bedrrom, bath, kitchen and living room.
Thanks

Stiles - did you get these at a home center?

Bob, there's one of those vents about 3 feet from my chair so I measured it. The opening is 4x10. Ours is a 2003 model but I think they're the same over all years. I read that those from home centers will fit just fine.

The registers are standard 4"x10" floor defusers. I found mine at Lowe's in the plumbing section with all the other A/C and floor defusers. The ones I found did not have screw holes drilled in them but it was short work to mark them and drill them myself.
