Duo Therm Remote Thermostat

My heater remote died last night in my 2005 Montana I want to change it to a hunter thermostat. So I did a search but can't find anything for the remote-controlled thermostat. Has anybody changed one and can tell me how to do it. mine only has four wires, and it seems that the ones I looked up at seven wires. If you can help me out. I would really appreciate it.

Thank you
Glen

The short answer is "you can't".

The longer answer is you can replace the remote with one specific thermostat made by Dometic. It is called the "Comfort Control Center" and has the same type of wiring as the remote receiver. At one time, Dometic were providing replacement CCC to people who were dissatisfied with the remote. You could always try them. It is also important to note that as well as replacing the thermostat on the wall, you have to replace the main control board in the A/C unit.

If you just want a remote, send me a private email, and I might just have a spare one I could let you have.

We also change ours to the Comfort Control Center I call the dealer they got one and change it from the remote unit which never work right. I would check with a Montana deal and see if they can help you they may be able to do something for you.

I replaced mine a year or so back. The CCC works so much better. If there is a heat outlet below the thermostat you may want to block it off so your heater doesn't cycle on/off every 2 minutes.

The install of the thermostat is a no-brainer but the circuit board and freeze sensor install in the A/C unit may be a problem if you're not handy.
