Kitchen Slide if Fixed (We Hope)

I posted a while back about putting laminate flooring in our 2005 - 3400. All went well until we got to the kitchen, the slide was dragging so bad that it had ripped the vinyl and almost broke the side trim nest to the frig. Well we took it into the dealer (Burnside in Houghton Lake MI) and they have it working like it should so we can finish our floor. It cost US $428 and Keystone will not cover it even though we have had it in 4 times for this slide. John and Greg at Burnside did a great job and are going to bat for us with Keystone, in fact told us to give them &^&** when we go to the factory tour. The problem was the top awning was not letting the top of the slide go out and caused it to not be level, but the big problem was that the kitchen floor in frond to the frig, and sink was NEVER bolted down to the frame, so it bowed and caused the slide to drag!! They took the slide completely out and raised it fixed the unbolted floor and it looks great. After spending what we did on this unit the warranty should cover something that was done wrong at the factory. I am not done with Keystone by a long shot. Will keep you posted on our progress. Again Burnside is a great dealership and we did not buy our unit from them but in FL, where the dealership was a nightmare.

Sue, it definitely sounds like Keystone should cover your repair. But I think John and Greg gave you bad advice. The factory tour isn't the place/setting to take up issues with Keystone. From our experience, the tours are not even led by the people that you want to talk to. We had a great experience with Darryl and George at the Service Center and you'd probably have better luck with them. They should be available during your stay at the rally.
