Drapiey Hold Down
Well I dont know if you guys out there have had as much truble getting this part from your dealer as I have, if you did I'll give you the part number number from Keystone. I tried to get the new one that are in the 07 models they are made of steel and will never brake but I drew a big ZERO on that number.

They also come in a left and a right now as well as steel instead of plastic - if we're talking about the same part.
I thought about converting my entire rig, but instead chose to get extra plastic ones as they will probably get weaned out of the system at some point.

Our 05 has metal ones but they do bend if hit. However they do not break and can be bent back. I've seen these in RV supply stores. Not CW however.

When I went to my dealer, he went to the on line parts selection, that only dealers seem to have. then called Keystone and they could not find the part either. I asked for the new nomber for the steel bracket which I would rather have, but nobody knew what they were, but they were able to get me the plastic holder number. so if anybody has the number for the steel drapery hold down please put it out there for me and anybody else that might be interested.

Sue's right... they do bend. Wonder how many times I can bend that one on the bottom of the tall side window in the back with my recliner before it actually does break... Can't imagine them made from plastic. I'd be on my 5th or 6th one...

Don, we added these on our 3295RK a couple of years ago. I couldn't find them anywhere. Our dealer called Keystone and got them from them. They had to buy a box of 16, which is what we needed anyhow. They were a buck apiece at that time. Our Montana came with the tiebacks so we got rid of the tiebacks and installed these holders.

Don, I didn't mean to mislead you. We got the white plastic ones. I had not seen metal ones at that time. The invoice is long gone. Sorry. The dealer didn't find them listed anywhere. He called someone at Keystone who had the information.

Don, if all else fails and you can wait for a couple of months until we get home, I can send you one. We took ours all down and removed the curtains. Saved all the hardware but left them in the stick house. You'll have to remind me! Ours are metal.

Or, Don and Georgia, you could trek on out to Goshen to the rally next month. I bet Keystone could get them for you!

We have steel in the living area, and plastic in the bedroom. And yep those are broken and we are looking for the steel ones. So far no luck.
Guess I'll just let the bedroom drapes hang loose

You know, Campbud, you may be correct. I'd bet they used the plastic ones until the supply ran out. Why waste them? Yours must have been the one where that happened!
I know some of the 2006 Montanas with the new color graphics got the blue patio awning. When they ran out they switched to a more coordinated color. I sure would be squawking about that to Keystone if they did that to us.

I also took down the tie back curtains in the living room. We think it looks much better. Less fluff.
The bedroom curtains are staying. Yes, our plastic brackets are broken on one side of both the windows. I too would be interested in the metal ones.

I'm not Ragging on Keystone, but give me a brake.
I find it amaising that Keystone when I called them does not know what the part number is for an item as simple as a drapery hold down bracket, as far as a part number or item name goes anyway, they already have desegnated it as " Drapery hold down bracket" whats the problem? after all they only make thousands or the Keystone trailers and 5th wheel every year. It's not a item that is hard to find, it's not a specalty part of stereo system.
I don't think they would be hard to make once you have the pattern which I'll probably do, when I get my supose to be ordered parts from Mike Thompson RV. Its been almost 3 months now sence I first started this venture.
What I dont understand is why Keystone will not sell direct to there customers, granted they don't want to undercut there dealers which is fair, but they could sell to the consumer at 15% above what the dealer gets it for, that way they cant say they were being undercut by there supplier.
Plus with a credit card or bank debit, they would have there payment almost emmediately and not have to wait like they do for dealers payments, which might be a month or more before payment.
When I do get a person reprsenting Keystone/Montana on the phone. they are reasuring that I'll be taken care of ASAP, they even give me there e-mail address to communicate again about the item, which never works (wrong name ID).
Well I'm through venting, sorry.

Don,
Some velcro and a little piece of something for a spacer (like a small piece of wood) would work. When I first joined the forum there was a lot of talk about the plastic ones breaking and that is what someone had done to fix. I kept that in the back of my head but then found out we have the metal ones so they haven't broken. There is velcro at the top so velcro at the bottom would make sense.
