Dave,
Have you not heard or gotten the word yet. They decide to keep the plant shut for three more weeks so that will delay yours leaving the plant. Just kidding. I know you cannot wait till it gets in.

Darrell, I don't know the model of the Dimplexes that come as an option with Montanas but the Dimplex model I ordered from Home Depot's Canadian website is model # DF12309.
Mine is still on order but the dimensions according to the website are 23.2" wide, 19.8 " high and 10.8" deep. It weighs 34 pounds and the price is 298.00 Canadian. It will fit in my 06 2955RL with a few alterations and if it as good as the OEM one that lists at over a 1000.00, it will be a bargain. If it doesn't please me, it's going back to Home Depot.

Today I got the Dimplex electric fireplace that I ordered form Home Depot. All the posters that said how realistic the Dimplex is were right on the money. This thing looks really neat and it took a leap of faith to touch the hot coals.

I won't get a chance to put it in my Montana for a couple of weeks because I just have too many things on the go, but thanks to the people who posted about how much they liked their fireplaces.
I know we are going to enjoy ours.

I saw in another thread that the Montanas have the Dimplex Electric Fireplace as an option. How does this brand compare to others for a realistic looking fire? I want to put a fireplace in my 06 2955RL and I am trying to decide which brand looks the best. Thanks.
We have a 2005 2980RL and it has the same small cabinet under the TV but as you said it is only about 8" deep so we could not find a fireplace that would fit, but we did find a small (very small)wood stove look-alike and it fit with about 1/2" clearance in the front when the slider is closed. I had to enlarge the opening to fit the unit into the space but that was simple. We also put two tiles under it because the electric heater was on the bottom and I was concerned about the heat that close to the carpet. When the slider is closing it raises up enough to go over the tiles so no interference there. We do have to check the stove every time we open or close the slider to make sure it has not moved and it gets crushed. A black shock cord helps hold it in place.

We have been asked by guests if it is wood burning or gas operated as it looks very real. You can just operate the flames with out the heat so I told my wife I was going to take it out side at night so I didn't have to start a camp fire. Like thats really going to happen.

We purchased it a Home Depot last winter. It was the floor model that was selling for about $99.00 but we got $20.00 off because it had a scratch on the back of the top (hidden by the cabinet). I wish I could help you with a make and model but no luck. They should have them in stock in November or early December.

Good luck on your install when you find a unit that fits.

I have a free standing model also. I got it at Home Depot for about $160. It fits great right in front of the entertainment center in my Mountaineer. Works great and I get alot of comments on it from people.
