The ground is is there. It part of the flange ring. The rear of the plug has terminals for all 4 conductors. I would not give you bogus information.

Thank you. After I looked at the product I saw the 4 connections. Figured the ground needed to be somewhere and I did see the ring. Just need the wire and switch now.

One of the posts earlier mentioned just getting a different cable that goes from your inverters to your shore power.
Unless I'm not understanding, the only thing that an ATS will do is reconnect you to shore power when the power comes back on, but it still will not kill your inverters. You'll still need to do that manually.
Maybe there's a reason that an ATS is needed in this case, but that seems like a lot of work, especially if you're going to have to manually start the inverters.
At the end of the day, simple is always better!!

Yes in my case the ATS long with the front 50 amp outlet will power the coach while traveling. Spending the night at rest stops. Easier way to hook up power from the inverted generators in the bed of my truck. I guess I can also use them to power up the unit when we are close to camp to cool down inside while driving.
Right now I use an extension cord at rest stops the front plug will make things easier.

Now it all makes sense!
Good luck in your endeavor! You have some great guidance here, and I have no doubt you can get it done...

One other thought that I had after reading this was about running the inverters in the back of your truck. I don't think that there's any issues with that (that I'm aware of), but my son-in-laws father has had issues keeping his on-board genset running while rolling down the road. I don't think that he ever figured out what the issue with it was either. It would run fine stopped, and soon as he started moving, it would die. Like it was getting too much air rammed into it or something.
If you haven't done it in the past, might be worth running down the road with your inverters running to make sure that they run. I don't know if this is a common issue, or just something unique to my son-in-law's father...

Thank you, could be the low oil sensor going off and killing the engine.

Yeah, it could be. Like I said, I don't think that he ever actually figured it out. When we were with them this last weekend, I know that he was not running it while we were traveling, but then again, it wasn't actually hot enough to need air conditioning in the 5er...

A transfer switch is a must so you don’t have power to both of the male ends of the power cable. A transfer switch only allows power to one cable at the time.

Found the power cable. Took down the walls in the basement. I’ll mount the ATS right there. Yeah it’s going to be a lot of work but easier for us when we travel. Pull into a rest stop plug in from the back of the truck start the inverters and we’re done. Plus I get to learn something new lol

Nice picture of Keystone’s quality work and installation of everything behind the bulkhead. I think that most everything is one size fits all, if it is a shorter RV just flop it around until it fits, even hydraulic hoses for the slides are way over length in my 3160.

I’m a machinist I know about measure twice cut once. I once cut a bunch of parts I had over a hundred hours in .025 inch under size. O well throw them in the scrap barrel and start again. Not fun!

WonDer why NO one has mentioned that you are trying to power a 220 volt camper with a 110 volt generator. Some very large generators are 220 volt but the ones in the back of you truck are not. The transfer switches have to be rated for 120 volt-220 volt to work with the 220 volt power cord at the pedestal. To power the missing 110 volt power leg from your generator you have to install the jumper on the 220 volt GENERATOR side of the tranSfer switch. Unless an RV transfer switch has an internal jumper for this. The one I bought from CW dose not. I have never seen on like that. The concept is like the 220 volt 50 amp to 110 volt 30 aMp doG bOne you can buy at WalmArt. Given that the generator side delay kicks in after the 220 volt side drops out on sensing the 110 volt generator the phases never coming in contact with the each other so no bucking phases that would ruin your day and campers electronics. Proceed very carefully.
