new sofa bed mattress
We decided to just do it and replaced the sofa bed mattress with a 4" thick interspring mattress we bought at Mattress Discounters. It is a regular queen size sofa bed mattress so it was slightly longer than the foam mattress we took off but it works perfectly. Noone has slept on it all night yet but just lying down to test it we found we don't feel the metal bars so we are hoping our overnight guests will find it to be comfortable. Overall cost only $200.
