replacing vinyl trim

The vinyl trim came off my 34rl 5th wheel around the entrance door.I bought 1" replacement vinyl but am not having much luck. The curved bulge is too high and it is very difficult to insert and end up with an even smooth appearance.
Any suggestions or tricks I am missing.

Thanks

Generally easy to install either sliding it in or pushing it in by squeezing the edges (I prefer sliding). Did you match the replacement trim with the old, as there is more than one width available.

If the bulge is too high either you have a molding that is too wide or you are not getting it seated in the track. If you are using the squeeze method make sure the edges are seating in the grooves of the channel. It is easy to see when it is right. Then push down on the bulge to insure it is totally seated. Takes a little practice but once mastered it's pretty easy. Jim
