Torque for wheel

Anyone know what the torque # setting for a Montana 3150 with aluminum wheels is off hand, so I don't have to dig thru all the paper work to find it.
Thanks

I believe it calls for 110-120. I have always torqued to 120 ft.lbs.

Hi

I believe your Dexter Axel document will give you the number.

Bingo is correct most of the owners torque to 120 Ft. Lbs. The SAE standard for the ½ inch grade 8 stud is 107 Ft. Lbs.

I'm also at 120#. Used 115# with the standard Keystone studs and went to 120# with the bigger Mor/ryd studs.

Per the Montana owners manual: For wheel re-installation, 3 stage lug installation.

1) 20-30 ft/lbs
50-60 ft/lbs (Cambridge)

2) 55-60 ft/lbs
90-100 ft/lbs (Cambridge)

3) 110-120 ft/lbs
140-150 ft/lbs (Cambridge)

"Lug nuts should be torqued to 110-120 ft/lbs on all units except for the Cambridge, which requires 140-
150 ft/lbs. This is due to the use of a 9/16” stud versus a 1/2” inch stud used on other units."

After wheel installation, lugs should be re-torqued at 10-25-50 miles. (also from owners manual)

Hi

Agreed

But when I started having lug nut failures and stud failures I went to the SAE standard and haven’t had any problems since.

After putting 10,000 miles on the trailer in 45 days last summer I now have about 80,000 on the trailer.
