Look Like New Again!

We just finished replacing the front cap graphics today. It made a world of difference--makes our Monty look like new. It was about a 4 hour job to remove the old graphics, clean off the residue for the glue, clean off the cleaner, and then replace the graphics. I was a little surprise to see the mountain scene was all one huge graphic. We cut our into the pieces that were originally on the Monty. I don't see how anyone could handle a graphic that large and not get into trouble. Burlington sent excellent instructions about surface preparation, how to apply the graphic and complete the job. Ready to go to the Spring Rally--it is a long drive--about 50 miles!

Tim, would it be too much work to post those instructions from Burlington? My "Mountain" on my 2007 cap is fine. My "Montana" is what I need to replace. I have the graphic.

I will see what I can do on posting the instructions. I left them in the Monty that we took back to our storage area. Give a few days.

Guys,
A better idea would be to post a video of the process. Tim, I realize that it would be impractical since you have already completed the installation. In the spirit of friendship and willingness to help all of our MOC friends, I do have a solution however. I am willing to donate the use of my rig for the filming of the video. Out of the goodness of my heart, I am willing to do this at no charge to the film crew or the installation crew or the MOC members. Tim, since obviously you have done such a fine job, it would be only fitting that the film crew would film you doing another fine job on the donated filming rig. As another measure of my generosity, since Dave seems to have lost his instructions, I think rather than reading how to do the install, a visual observation would benefit him much more. As part of this visual observation, rather than just standing there, I think it would benefit the entire MOC if he video'd the process. Now obviously, I am sure there will be some negative feedback, since it would appear that I would not be doing anything. In order to quell this notion before it starts, rest assured that I would be on standby to let DW know when to provide you all with cold drinks for breaks during your labors.

Nice try Bingo!! We are just letting ours fall off. They are really bad. We were promised a fix - never heard anymore. Bad ad for Keystone. Pretty soon we will be "naked".
Happy trails...................

Thanks, Tim!

No problem, Bingo. Those "cold drinks" could end up being quite costly, though...

I discussed this process with a few other MOCers over bar-b-que on Saturday. One good suggestion was to get a custom decal shop to make up something special for your rig. Some apparently have already done this. AND have them put them on! I may pass on the "live action filming"--I will watch the next applicaton myself!

Sue: we are going "naked" too. Just not on the high priority list for replacement.

Same here, we're going naked to, after every wash I cut off another 1/8th inch of curle. So will we still get the same respect from others for running around naked? all I care about is the inside of the Monty clean and as it was new. I dont live outside. I dont care about the decals anymore eventually they will be gone forever.

Hoping the new perforated decals last longer on my 2010.
