Who did own surge install?

Did search but couldn't find the thread about self installed surge protectors. Help?

Are they hard to install? Does not look like it. I have prewire generator installed to work around.

$150 to install seems to be extreeeeemly costly to hook up 8 wires and mount.

I installed a hard wired surge guard a couple months ago if that is the one you are trying to find. It was not difficult to do, took about 1 1/2 hrs and hardest part was working with the #6 wire. I am not sure if your entry is like ours, closet by the door with the electric panel below. I installed the surge guard in the closet directly above the electric panel. If you can wire a generator, the surge guard will not be a problem to do, and you can save $150.00

Illapah, Check Ozz's mods. I seem to recall he installed the intermatic surge protector and possibly the Hughes Autoformer. I have these on my list when I get my 3400 out of the FREEZER.....I will have to hire an electrician though, not to keen on working with electricity......
