Mattress lift Back Tweek

I have to find an easier to lift the mattress without tweeking my back. At the moment the mattress sticks out past the board about 3 inches and in order to lift the platform and not just the mattress you have to reach down under and get your hands on the platform, then lift. Back tweek is usually the result. I am thinking of getting some 1 or 2 inch nylon webbing and making a loop, then screwing it to the bottom of the platform at the end of the mattress. That way I can just reach under the bed and grab the strap and lift the whole thing up without tweeking anything. Ozz, how does that sound? Anyone else? Dave and Betsy

Doesn't sound like a huge investment, so try it. If it doesn't work, start over with a new idea.

Mine may fit different, but if I run my legs into the bottom pushing it back tight to the wall, I can grab the wood with a stretch ...but I like you're idea too.

Did it using two loops of seatbelt strap. GREAT improvement!

Also extended the board so sheets remain tucked in.

Sounds like a workable plan Dave if you added two handles under the plywood that the strap would tie to the handle would also help you raise the bed.
