Pedestal for swivel table

Discovered today after a 250 mile return trip and 2000 miles since I did any changes in table position, that the wooden pedestal was loose from the staple joints and the table moved into the cranked lower portion of the window there and forced out the window which was forced loose from the cranking mechanism. I can't understand how this happened. I will take the 3100RL to my dealer at the end of this month as I return from a 2500 mile trip. I hope and pray my insurance will cover this expensive looking repair. Any light you can share on this is appreciated. I had inside wood slide framing come down on a trip last year. The way they join wood together on these units makes me wonder why you do this.

Never had that issue, but we did have the nuts work loose on the rod that goes through the pedestal. After a couple times having to retighten, we replaced them with nylon lock nuts and ended that problem.
