Fuel stops

I thought that I saw on here that there is a catalog/map style booklet that you can purchase that tells you where there is gas stations that are big rig friendly so you can plan your stops on your trips.

Thanks and be safe.

Not sure about a comprehensive booklet. You can go to the web sites for Pilot, Loves... and they will provide locations for their truck centers. I installed a 33 gallon tank in my bed and go wherever is cheapest when I stop for the night.

Dennis, the book is called Next Exit and is available from Amazon for about $14. My wife was my navigator and she wouldn't take a trip without it.

Yep for Next Exit. Not only does it tell fuel types and whether it is on left or right side of freeway. And it lists all restaurants and fast food places and I believe Walmarts too. It is a very handy book if you travel the interstates.

There is also a Next Exit app for your cell phone available that works very well.

I use an app called "Gas Buddy". Will find your fuel and show last reported price and let you bring up google maps

Gave up on that ,to thought consuming ,stressful, nerve racking if there is a clown that will block you in and go to order food before he pumps fuel and leaves you sitting waiting for him to move (this happened at one stop wife begged me not to say anything to him when he came out) so I put in a 63 gallon wedge tank in the bed, no more planing, stress or clowns. Think about it.

If you're driving a gas tow vehicle, The Next Exit will not tell you if the gas pumps are accessible. After 37 000 miles of towing, stopping for gasoline is one of the most stressful events.

If you drive a diesel, you'll have fewer problems.

We have numerous horror stories on this topic.

We love Next Exits. It is arranged by State and routes and shows all big rig facilities in red.

There is also an app, and some/most? GPS's have it built in.

Do what I did, and go to Titan MFG. .com, and look at the fuel tanks they have that replace your OEM tank underneath the truck. My 2016 RAM 3500 dually with Cummins HO Turbo and Aisin tranny and 4:10 gears only came with a 32 gallon tank, and I thought that was crazy. We were always looking for gas stations with high enough overhangs to accommodate our 13'6" height! So we bought Titan's 55 gallon replacement tank that goes right where our OEM tank fits under the truck, and it only hangs down about 1.5" more, so I went with the Kevlar shield under it just in case. But now, we "NEVER" have to worry about where to fuel up, because we never go more than 400 miles if we can help it, and 55 gallons easily covers that. So I only fuel up in my truck without the RV attached, once we are disconnected and ready to pull out the next day. No more headaches and worrying! It is a little pricey, but it all depends on how worth it is to you to not having to ever stress again about fueling up while connected to your RV!

We were traveling in Wisconsin and noticed there wasn't alot of truck stops. I think the reason is there are a little of KwikStops that have pumps for truckers to fuel up at. This Next Exit might be just what I need to find fuel at non truck stops. Like the idea of not running into the store to fuel up especially with this darn covid Virus. I look at truck stops as a virus stopping point.

I downloaded the Trucker Path app on my phone since it offers more than just truckstop option.

Our primary fuel vendor is Pilot/FJ. We have the RV plus card. They are easy in , easy out most have dedicated RV pumps , lots of parking and not a bad restaurant if needed. We do look for cheap fuel we look for what meets our needs. We do have the next exit on our Cell phone. We are never in a big hurry and stop every 250 miles or so for a rest and fuel break. We have never even being off the interstates had a problem with diesel fuel.

We use pilot/flying also...convenient and I am always sure there is room to get in and out
With the good Sam card we get 5 to 8 cents off of the cash price and can pay with cc
Also have the app Iexit...tells us about exits and rest areas

With the 48 gallon truck tank and the 63 gallon wedge tank I can go 1000 miles before I really need to fill up. Never dove that far before stopping for the night and going out to dinner or just fill up at any truck stop along the way. Using the EFS card for savings it`s cheaper and ZERO stress. There made for gas to.
