replacing new tires with new tires

After reading horror stories about the Goodyear marathon tires installed on Montanas
I decided to replace them ,I have about 1300 miles on them .
I am thinking of buying BF Goodrich t/a commercial 235-85- 16 they don't have the 235-80-16
Is there any problem with height due to taller tires in the wheel well?
Does anyone use that type of tires on Montana 3400 rl ?
It makes me sick to have to buy new tires to replace new tires ,but I will feel better and
More comfortable towing my RV , we will be traveling to San Diego 3200 miles round trip in september
And Rockport Texas in October another 1600 miles
Does anyone have better suggestions about tires replacement ?
Thank you

Though I don't have a 3400RL, I did replace my Marabombs with the LT235/85R16 size (see my signature) and they work fine. If I'm not mistaken, you wind up with one inch less between front and rear tires.
I know what you mean about being sick over replacing brand new tires. I just bit the bullet and did what I needed to do to make my rig safe for me, DW and others on the road. Many threads and discussions on this subject on the MOC. Search function is your friend.

I replaced my Marathons with that tire and have been very happy with them. I run them on my truck also. I have had no clearance issues. Look at it this way, you are replacing Chinese road bombs that WILL fail you with decent tires that are made in America.

The LT235/85R16s fit fine and work fine, you'll be glad you changed them.

Very happy with the BFG commercial T/As I just had installed on our 2008 3400RL. Also had wet bolts and X-Factor installed the same day. No clearance issues. Lost about 1.5" between tires. Glad I waited to order the RotoChoks.
