Picking her up tomorrow
Well she's finally came in. Got the PDI scheduled at 2pm but will be there at 10 AM to start mine. Told my salesman a few weeks ago that I wanted to start my PDI before theirs to improve the chances that I would not have to waste my time and fuel hauling it back to them to fix. He said that it would be back for some type of warranty work. not very encouraging.
Also a couple of days ago when he called and said the rig was in he asked if I was going to bring my own battery or if I wanted them to install 2 batteries with vent for $255. Whoa, did that ever get me fired up. Bottom line they are installing one battery. I hope things go better that that tomorrow. Wish me luck.

I have my PDI scheduled for Saturday for my Keystone Alpine 3500RE. Hope all goes well with yours and I am doing the same thing by showing up early and doing my own first.

Congratulations! Hope you don't find many issues during your PDI, but then that is what it is for. Hope you didn't give then payment in full yet, if not tell them that they will not get the check until all PDI issues are taken care of to your liking. Money s the only thing they understand. Tell your dealer that other dealers are throwing in batteries (ours gave us two 12v new deep-cycle batteries with battery boxes, and a RV starter package - 10' sewer hose, 10' water hose, tank chemicals).
I am sure you will love you new Montana once your home with it...I know we sure do, and we are going on 4 years.

Mike have you contacted Keystone- Montana division and see what they say about the unit not coming with at least one battery? Also what does you purchase order say concerning batteries? I'd be fired up a little also if they called me and wanted to know if I was bringing in the batteries for the unit! Just how do they expect to open the unit unless they run a shorepower cord all the way to your Monte so you can do your PDI and/or how they can work on any problems that might be there prior to you doing you PDI also? Apparently, they do ow plan on checking the unit out before you come in for the PDI!! Something smells fishy on this one to me!! I would definitely be calling Keystone on this one-- no "if, ands, or buts"!!! KEEP US INFORMED ON THIS DEAL!! and who is this dealer by the way?

Bill-- If you go to the Home page and page down you will see RV Related Links. Click on it and look for PDI (pre-delivery inspection). It will then take you to that section and several PDI lists you can click on and printout if you want to take them with you. I didn't have to use one since I purchased ours from a private owner that I knew so they walked us through the whole thing and even pointed out things that might need work on when we bought ours. If and when we head out and start to look for a different unit, I definately will be using these lists to check for things that need to be checked prior to taking ownership from the dealer. Good luck on your new unit and keep us informed on what you found or didn't find!

Well we got her home. We were at the dealer from 10AM to 5PM. 3.5 hours on my PDI and 1.5hr on their orientation. The rest paperwork. Only minor things that I found wrong with it. I was pretty impressed with fit and finish except for the main slide crown trim. The piece with the inlaid Montana logo. It was about 1/4 inch out at the top on onw end and the the wood was splinter on the end grain. I told them that they could fix it while we went to do the paperwork. (The DW was in a hurry to go) I forgot to check on it when before I left and sure enough the bozo that tried to fix it split the face of it about 3 inches in from the edge. So Monday I will call in a warranty item.
We stayed in it last night trying to figure things out. I see the concern about the kingsize matress. The DW was complaining about making the bed. Had a problem with the Samsung surround sound with it making snow on the tv and high pitch sqeal on the speakers. Had to shut it off then restart the DVD and after a while it did it agian. Will try it again tonight and probably for the 4-5 days. The DW is starting to move things in.
Already start tearing it apart. Made the sewer boom a little over twice as long for more hose. Hopefully 20 foot will be enough.
Does Keystone sell wiring diagrams for their Montanas?
Tomorrow the surge protector goes in. Hope it is better weather that today.
Didn't have to make any adjustments and the TV an Monty ride level.
Overall we are pleased with the unit and look forward to getting on the road. 4K more lbs behind me sure makes a difference in pulling.

Wiring diagrams for the trailers do not exist. They wire them on the fly at the factory. Keep a check on your roof over the next year. Staples and screws rising under the rubber are not uncommon so I've found out.

Don't forget to torque the wheels now that you got you Monty home. Keystone includes a DVD now, I though it was going to explain everything I ever wanted to know, but all it covers is torquing the wheels.

Mike,
Congrats on the new unit. I was surprised to hear that no battery was intended to be installed. My rig before this was a relatively low end Puma (which actually turned out to be a great unit)and it came with everything we needed to start camping, including a battery and 2 full bottles of propane. I would definitely not be happy that they did not intend to install a battery. As someone mentioned earlier, how did they do their own inspection? seems a bit hokey. Hope it is all you expected and desire. I love my Monte!

I didn't get a DVD but I did torque the lugs yesterday after I read the Dexter manual. Did them at 115 ft lbs. Some took about 1/8th turn more.
Got my sewer boom streched to 45" and my surge proctector in today.
