3400RL Kitchen slide
Our new 3400RL dumped the microwave out the front on our first trip. Dealer replaced but did not find out why.
on our next trip on a sharp turn I looked back to see the top of the kitchen slide was hanging out about 18", as I finished the turn it slamed back into place. Now I know what happen to the micowave!!
I can stand in side with the slide in an with no effert push the top out.
We are now blocking the top before we move.
Is anyone else seeing this problem??

Wow! Didn't know that was possible. I will check mine next chance I get. I assume that you can stand inside with the slides closed and push out on the top of the kitchen then?
Definately something wrong in my book. Time for the Dealer. Hopefully MIMF2 will jump in with his thoughts, or you can PM him.

Yes stand in front of refrig. and push out on top front.
Montana rep. at Tampa RV show told me to bleed slider system, would not understand that bottom does not push out. (DID NOT WANT TO UNDERSTAND)
Now after looking under slide I see that all of the bolts are bent out.

I agree, nothing to do with the hydraulics. It is something broke on the slide.

I'd take that one back to the dealer for repair.

Robb,
Sorry to hear about your problem. Keep us posted on how Montana handles it. How are things in Texas?

Has anyone had a chance to try the slide on their 3400RL to see if they can push out the top of the kitchen slide?
With this being moved I lost contact with those that were interested in this problem.

Hi Rob,
I went over to see my 3400 yesterday (in storage) and I pushed on the kitchen slide at the top and I was able to move it out a couple of inches. Once I let go it quickly sprang back into place. I don't see that being a problem because the hydraulic piston is retaining the unit from the bottom - not the top and as a result there is going to be some "play" involved.
Keep in mind too that the weight of the slide is inside the RV and if it was allowed to freely fall - it would fall into the RV, not outward. Another words, the weight is working into the favor of aiding the hydraulics (to keep it retracted). If the slide is moving out 18 inches on you while you are driving, and then slamming back into place, I would guess the hydraulic system has not been bled properly (trapped air going through compression and decompression), or the hydraulic piston is not secured properly to the unit. When you physically push on the slide - does the cylinder go out with it? I'm just thinking "out loud" here.
