Feeling a bit Bummed
Some of you may remember we had a 'misfortune' with our trailer last June. We have been waiting for a new front cap, which was delayed when a communications failure took place between Keystone and the dealer. Cap was finally sent to dealer and we took our unit in last week to have it repaired. I got a phone call Monday that Keystone sent the wrong cap. So our trailer is sitting at the dealer with the front torn off while the dealer and Keystone try to resolve the issue.
But that isn't what has me bummed out. Our daughter had made a request to go camping this fall. She loves the changing seasons. I tried to plan this repair around her. Among a multitude of other medical problems, she is in the fourth stage of kidney failure and during the past 3 months has been in the hospital 3 times. After more than a week, she just got out again and I had hoped to have the trailer back so we could go out either later this week or early next. Doesn't look like that's going to happen.

Tom,
I feel really bad for your situation. There should be some type of compensation for situations like you are in.
I have two suggestions that might make your life a little happier, and your daughter's. Just by chance, explain your trip schedule, as you had intended it, to the dealer's general manager. Ask if they have a loaner that you could use. I have heard that some dealerships have done that.
Also, maybe you could condsider renting an RV (expensive) OR, just maybe someone has one sitting around and not using it for the next couple months.
Good luck. And how is the knee doing?
Edited: And remember, the worse you can get for asking is a "No."

Tom, sorry and sad to hear about your daughter. A good reputable dealer would lend you another unit while yours is being repaired and that may be the best alternative to have the family enjoy the fall. I would think that both Keystone and the dealer could work together to accommodate your needs. Thanks, and keep us posted, as this could happen to any one of us.

Prayers for your daughter, real bummer on the front repair situation. Will send forth a few good thoughts that someone can come up with a creative solution for you and family.

Surely the dealer has trade-in units on his lot. If he has any compassion at all, he would let you use one considering the circumstances.

Thanks for the replies and well wishes! The dealer the trailer is at is not a Keystone dealer. The nearest Keystone dealer doesn't have a good reputation, and the dealer we bought from is 90 miles away, but as this fiasco unfolds, I wish I taken it to them to start with, but this dealer is literally 2 miles form the house, so I thought it would work out better. So much for that idea!
Daughter told me today that she doesn't think she is well enough now to go camping. Of course due the amount of medicine she is on, that could literally change over night. The dealer did offer to stick the old cap back on and seal it up so we can go if the daughter's health permits it.

I'm so sorry about your daughter, Tom. I know you would give anything to take her on that trip. We'll be praying for you and your family. Hope things work out so that you can get in a trip for her so she can enjoy the fall colors and changing seasons.
