Issues loading forum in Chrome

Hi all,

All of a sudden I'm having issues loading the forum using Google Chrome.

It tells me there are too many redirects and it's looping.

I already cleared the cookies multiple times, closed and reloaded the browser, etc. and it's still doing it. I had to use FireFox to post this message.

Any thoughts on what's going on and how to resolve it? Yes, I'm a tech person so no need to expand on explanations.

TIA!
Lou

OK this is very strange - changed my wifi connection and now I get this in FireFox:

----------
The page isn’t redirecting properly

Firefox has detected that the server is redirecting the request for this address in a way that will never complete.

This problem can sometimes be caused by disabling or refusing to accept cookies.

----------

Cookies are enabled and I had to open MS Edge to type this reply.

Not sure what's happening.

Thank you for the input!

Like richfaa, I'm using chrome to post this reply and have no issues. Interested to see what you find out.

Also using Chrome and hooked to new Verizon Hotspot for Internet and no issues here. We are now mobile for 6 months as we do each may-November and have never had that issue.

I have tried all of your recommendations with no success.

My Chrome version is:

Google Chrome is up to date
Version 67.0.3396.79 (Official Build) (64-bit)

Now when I try to log in via FireFox it just keeps looping to the login screen over and over.

When I try to post a reply to a thread (this one specifically) it takes me to the login screen, I enter my credentials, and I get this:

This page isn’t working
www.montanaowners.com redirected you too many times.
Try clearing your cookies.
ERR_TOO_MANY_REDIRECTS

Cookies have been cleared, browser and machine both restarted, etc. and still doing the same thing.

I'll get it figured out.

Thanks to everyone for the great input! (This reply coming from MS Edge).

Thank you!
Lou

I would try
1) Log out of the forum software.
2) Reload the page and make sure you are seeing the site as a guest
3) rebooting your computer.
4) go specifically to this page: https://www.montanaowners.com/forums/misc.php?do=login

Then are you able to login and use the site okay?

Just checking, but you are clicking the "Remember Me" box at Logon?

P.S. I use both Chrome and FireFox to access the MOC regularly.

Thumbs up

Got it - one of the extensions I had installed for checking my calendar either upgraded or got corrupted and appears to have been causing the redirect loop. This doesn't explain why it was doing the same thing in Firefox and MS Edge, but it's working in Chrome, which is really all I cared about.

Here's how I fixed it:

1] Created test user in Chrome to see if my actual profile was corrupt and opened a new window using the test profile.

2] Loaded the forum and everything worked fine.

3] Installed the extension under the test profile.

4] Went to the forum and logged in - couldn't log in, just kept taking me back to the main page as guest and never showed the login screen.

5] Turned off the extension - same thing as #4 above.

6] Uninstalled the extension and everything worked fine.

7] Went back to my actual profile and uninstalled the extension and everything seems to be working fine now - sending this reply via my actual profile.

I'll keep an eye on it to see what happens going forward.

Thanks for the help everyone!
Lou
