I looked at my 2008 3500RL and found the same issue. But my outside shows no issues. Originally thought it may have been a leak. Nothing shows of a repair. I am going to check for a broken weld.

Of those that have had to pay for a repair of a broken weld, how much was the bill? I have a 353RL built early in 2017, and while I dont seem to have this problem currently, I asked my dealer (CW) to give me an estimate on adding rollers and a hard plastic bottom to both the kitchen and living room slide, (the bedroom slide has rollers and a hard plastic bottom from the factory, but not the other 2). The estimate was about $2K. I felt that the cost of installing these in an effort to prevent possible future problems was as much as a repair would likely cost, so I opted not to have them do the work. I will be trying to find some 1/8" or so nylon or plastic sheets to put on the bottom of the slideouts, covering/protecting the plastic "tarp" material that is beginning to show some wear, and will likely tear eventually. Anyone care to share their thoughts on this?

Residential Refrigerator Slide Issue Montana High Country 353RL
Well if you got Keystone to cover this problem with the weld or in my case the lack of weld on the stud that is suppose to hold this heavy slide when going in and out, count your blessings. My camper 2015 353RL has been sitting at Camping world since May 14 2018 with the 2 service managers of the shop trying to get Keystone to help and even sending them a picture that shows the lack of weld and telling them that the weld barley penetrated the metal and was the obvious reason for the break, I had been on the phone with them trying also with no luck. I had been trying to get a manager to call me but they refuse, the manager will only email me. I understand that it is out of warranty but since there are so many having this same issue you would this they would help. But I received my final email today stating they didn't see any defect. They still say there is no problem with this slide. I had to pay for my camper to be fixed and Camping World of Colfax did the repair and as recommended by the service manager i had them install the rollers. Now this slide operates the best it ever has, it is smooth and you can tell a big difference in the sound of the motor, no strain. So my advice is to never buy another Keystone product as the have very poor customer service and will not stand behind there product. I hope this helps someone. David

Same as twopete. Known problem with too heavy kitchen slide. Besides reinforcing weld my dealer installed 5 rollers under slide edge. So far so good...

We found a deformation at the bottom of the wall on the kitchen slide next to the frig. Looks like the wall was pulled in on the inside and looks like the outside wall has also been flexed in. The FP post mentioned a broken weld. I have not noticed the wall moving, BUT I have never watched it either.
Anyone else noticed an issue like this. We have a 2015 Montana High Country 353RL. And its only been used a dozen times. No leaks or anything, but I do not like the idea if this could get worse!

I did not realize we had issues with the wall from the kitchen to the upper living room until the DW told me today. I removed all the screws '3' that where holding it in place, unfortunately they have already agitated the wall and now there are holes in the wall. I think I will see how it goes before I put new screws in as a replacement as the couch straps are part of the same fixture.

I had this same issue on my 353RL. Montana refused to acknowledge the issue. I ended up trading my 2-year old 2016 for a 2018 331RL. The 331RL has had many issues as well but i guess i am stuck with it for now. I won't make the mistake of purchasing a Montana HC the 3rd time. Right now, i am dealing with my 1.5 year old Montana HD 331RL eating up tires.

Keystone should cover it if it is within the warranty . Keystone does not make the welds on the frame they come from Lippert which in the case of the Montana plant #4 is next door. If the RV is out of the keystone warranty I would direct my calls to Lippert

The kitchen slide is the heaviest slide on most Rv's it is on our 2013 3402.It is now in the shop as the kitchen slide failed requiring the replacement of both gear packs and the head assembly at a considerable cost most all of it covered by our Cornerstone extended service plan.
