Just added IS and disc brakes
Hello everyone.
I finally did it. I drove to Elkhart Indiana and had MORryde install independent suspension along with disc brakes. I also added 8k axles. This also includes Shock absorbers on all 4 corners. I pulled out last night and drove 350 miles in a severe rain storm to get home. I must say my Montana has never pulled this good. The disc brakes are exactly what should have been installed when it was new. No comparison in drum vs disc brakes.
I weighed my truck before and after the install. I filled my fuel tank before weighing both times. I also used the same cat scale. Here is my result.
Before weight.
steer axle-#5220
Drive axle -#8020
Trailer axle-#11820
Gross -#25060
After the IS conversion and disc brakes
Steer axle -#5200
Drive Axle -#8140
Trailer Axles -#12660
Gross -#26000
I added #940 lbs by upgrading. Worth every penny.
I hope it holds up well. So far I’m very impressed.

Congratulations on on your IS & disc brake upgrade! Jealous! We could only justify getting disc brakes on ours. Happy to hear the ride is as good as what others have hyped it up to be. Know it will serve you well in the years ahead. You're right about all of our units should have came equipped with disc brakes. No comparison

Good for you, we now have about 14,000 miles on the IS/Disc upgrade and believe it will provide our Montana extra years for traveling. There is still the occasional bounce that knocks a few things around. Nothing like it used to be.
But the DISC BRAKES was the real winner. So much safer now.

Keep an eye on tire wear, the effed the alignment when they did mine. Cost them a set of tires.
How many rubber springs have you guys replaced? I had to do one side since 19.

Being we just upgraded to IS, I have no use for the spare wet bolts, brass bushings, and extra thick shackle plates from MORryde. These bolts were for my 2017 3791RD with MORryde CRE-3000 suspension. 7000 lb axles. If anyone can use them send me your address and I’ll ship them off. No charge. I can’t use them.
The MORryde wet bolt kit is UO12-016.*
*This normally sells for $107.99. See attached photos. I used a few brass bushings and bolts so the set is not complete. But it’s priced right

$8599 is the base price. I needed a special part to communicate with my 2016 Chevrolet. That was a few hundred more.
