2021 Tampa Show

I have agreed to chair the MOC get together at the Tampa show this year. I have been out to LazyDays and they are still planning on the show being held. Camping World reportedly has already cancelled. If the show gets cancelled, LazyDays plans on hosting at the dealership.

The plan is to meet at 1:00 on Wednesday, January 13th. I have already been in contact with Keystone to see if they will host a lunch. It may look a lot different with Covid, so I will keep everyone updated as we get closer to the date. Stay safe.

Went 2 years ago, might go this year. Been wanting to see a new DRV in person.

The show is a favorite for me, but so crowded that no social distancing is possible. And with multiple people crowding into the same trailer or class a/b/c unit...the safety of attending during the pandemic is highly questionable. The Florida governor has opened the state with no conditions and stated that masks are not enforable. Each person has to do what they feel is right for them, but my heart and lung problems dictate no exposure to covid. Wish I could attend if the show happens this January, but my guess is that it won't happen in 2021.

We would love to attend. However, being from Canada, this most likely won't be in the cards for us this year. Not sure when the border will be open for travel. What a world we live in...

At this point I am skeptical about the wisdom of attending the show. We are still planning on attending, but we will see what things look like as it gets closer. This is taken right from their website:

Exposure to COVID-19 is an inherent risk in any public location where people are present. We cannot guarantee you will not be exposed during your visit. At this time, we ask that if you are experiencing any respiratory symptoms, fever, cough, shortness of breath, sore throat or fatigue, or have recently been exposed to someone who tested positive, please do not attend the Fla RV SuperShow.
We are taking extra precautions to protect the health of our employees and other customers.
Thank you for your cooperation.

Just an update. Keystone personnel will “not” be in attendance this year. Thor has told their personnel not to attend any events in January. I believe that is a wise decision. At this time, the Tampa show is still on per the website, but that could change. Have a Merry Christmas, everyone. We will keep everyone updated as to the status of the show.

Jerome, We are currently at Robert’s RV and it looks like sites are available. It is quite a ways from the show but close to the beaches and St. Petersburg. We will be at Torry Island, which is quite a ways but we’ll come up for the day.

Jerome, we’ll be down at Torry Pines Island on the southern tip of Lake Okeechobee. The campground you are at is where Captain Eric and his wife of Fishlikeus.com stays. He does guided kayak fishing in Hobie tandem kayaks. If you like fishing and have never fished from a kayak, I highly recommend Captain Eric. Right now we are over in Pinellas at Robert’s Mobile Home and RV.

Maybe by the time the Hershey, PA show rolls around we will be past the Covid……

To those who have been to both. How does Hershey compare to Tampa?

I have been to both. We go to the Tampa show every year. It is not far from where we spend the winter. (Not this year though). I have been to the Hershey show with our daughter a few times.

The Hershey show bills itself as the largest RV show in America, but the Tampa show is bigger and better. There are more RVs and more vendors at Tampa, and more attendees as well. There are also entertainers wandering the grounds, which is really fun. If I could only choose one, I would choose the Tampa show. Not during Covid maybe, but that's a personal choice.
