We just purchased our RV and it came with the Furrion cameras, and so far they've been a dud. They run off of bluetooth, and because the fifth wheel is 42' long and the truck is 22', the rear camera is well past the 50' range that blue tooth has.

I think they'd be useful if they worked, but I'm going to have to look for ones that use different technology.

I recently bought a Haloview RD7. It has a very clear image and I can see every detail of the back of my RV. Backing up no longer needs help. The signal is strong and I haven't experienced any loss of signal. Combined with the ease of installation, I am very satisfied and feel the investment was worth it. If there is a downside, it may cost a certain amount of money, but it is definitely worth it in the long run, both in terms of reduced driving risk and better backing up. It's an option worth considering.

Haloview

I bought the haloview system and replaced the furrion. It works great, no lag, clear and install was a piece of cake.

We have a furrion camera on our 2019 3721RL with a monitor in the truck. Works great, clear picture and no interference's.

Connector Behind Camera Prep

Hello Everyone, can anyone confirm there is indeed a connector behind the camera prep on the back of the 5th wheel that plugs into the purchased Furrion camera. I have a 2021 3120rl. Also, I'm assuming if there is one it is connected to the marker lights and not the reverse lights. Any confirmation would be greatly appreciated. Tim

Welcome aboard! Glad you found us. I can confirm that if there is a prep on the back of the trailer that the wiring SHOULD be there. If it's there then most likely it is the Furrion plug. But even if it's not it's only a simple 2 wire connection so is easy to make virtually any 2 wire camera work there. Also, it SHOULD be connected to the clearance light.

Mine had the shark fin prep with the camera connector and the DC wiring to the clearance lights behind it. My Furrion camera plugged right in. I also got the side marker cameras with the 7" screen, but I seldom use those.

Awesome! Camera comes today so I'll be installing it here in the next few days. Thanks! Did you pair it before you mounted it or did it pair just fine after mounting? Thanks again!

I have one and enjoy having it for the reasons the others have said.

I had signal issues with the original Furrion system. The distance on my rig from the camera antenna to the monitor on the dash is ~47’. I also had signal issues with my new Haloview system, which I bought Oct 2021. We took a trip in Dec 2021 and had signal issues. I called Haloview and they sent me a 25’ extension “coax” cable and a small antenna free. I ran the cable over the roof and mounted the antenna (peel and stick base). I “anchored” the loose cable to the roof using little pieces 3” long eternabond every 3’ or so. The distance from antenna to monitor is now ~22’. Unfortunately we have not been out anywhere since December. I will update this when we go somewhere.
